Job Description

BASIC FUNCTIONS:  Responsible for care of grounds, equipment and buildings

  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform a variety of building/facility maintenance and repairs; including electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing and custodial tasks
  • Coordinate with general and sub-contractors, as needed
  • Advise Director of the need to purchase equipment
  • Keep an accurate inventory of tools, equipment and supplies
  • Evaluate maintenance and repair needs; submit budget for the upcoming year to the Executive Director by September 1st of each year
  • Develop maintenance schedules and keep accurate maintenance records
  • Assist in maintenance of safety equipment
  • Purchase equipment and supplies as requested by Executive Director
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Respond to emergencies in a timely manner

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance and grounds keeping
  • Able to assume responsibility for completion of assigned tasks

Able to operate a variety of power and hand tools
